Hello everyone . . . first of all . . . I would like to render an apology to everyone who has been patiently waiting for commissioned pieces (from me). To those that inquired about commissioning me (whom I turned down). To the kind, talented artists that asked me to work on collaboration work (which I also turned down) and to all my fans for not keeping things fresh, entertaining and completely outdated . . . I am very much sorry. There is always purpose and a reason as to why things go the way they do and is time to (finally) come clean . . .

I been out of the game for quite awhile; which is why I don't post much artwork on here or anywhere else . . . really. I been doing A LOT of soul searching because quite frankly, I have been in a very bad place; mentally and emotionally, for the last couple of years, but I've tried to suck it up like the big girl that I am and should be. One can only do and handle so much before one breaks into pieces and during this difficult period of my life much of me was lost . . . so lost that I can honestly say, I lost my identity as a person and wasn't much inspired to do anything except sleep whenever I could. The last couple of weeks have been much insightful and I been able to connect once again with the girl (in me) I thought was long gone. Aside from feeling lost, I also felt a tremendous amount of fear. You see, art has ALWAYS been a way of life for me . . . its been my voice and my therapy ever since I can remember, but due to the many personal issues that I had to deal with, I lost touch with my muse and all that once was inspiring . . . and that was very frightening, not to mention heart-breaking.

I am happy to be able to reconnect with myself once more . . . I am in a much better place now and is time to go back and do the only thing I can do . . . and are great at . . . being an artist.

{ O' and get back into shape. Dear God, what did I do to my body? o.O }

Tonight is the beginning of many, many, long, sleepless nights . . . which will eventually turn into long, long months . . . but I am used to it, so I can't complaint much about the demands of my work. I am happy to feel inspired and able/willing to create once more without having to force the art out of me. That was painfully brutal; I know many artists that have gone thru this understand that feeling. Tonight, instead of sketching out a few rough ideas, I am writing down notes. These notes will serve as inspiration, reference and research for my next body of work; titled "Corpi Celesti" . . .

It is with a very grateful and humble heart that I thank God above for His infinite love towards me (He never fails me) and to my closets of friends who have supported me (directly/indirectly) through these stormy times. I cannot thank you enough. MALL, I thank you specially because you have been a great source of inspiration to me. Not only are you talented beyond reason, but you are such a fighter and an extremely lovely soul. Thank you {all} for helping me find my way back.

Much love,
Eos.-

Hello my minions!

I have some exciting news to share with each and everyone of you. This will greatly benefit those of you that like me, live in the San Francisco Bay Area. Anywoo, my partner in crime; who also happens to be an artist himself, is curating a very special show of customized Dunnys.  Uuuuuuh! Do I have your attention now? *kekekekeke* Thought so.

The show is titled BAY AREA ARTISTS SERIES . . . why? Simple, because its a show by Bay Area artists and Bay Area artists only. What is really special about this show is that all 100% of  proceeds will go to a local Pit Bull Rescue organization; better known as Bad Rap. Now, ain't that something? I think is great! Art is a wonderful medium to help out make the world just a little bit more colorful and why not use our talents to make it just a little bit better? Originally we wanted to make this into a blind box series, but later decided it was best to auction each piece in the show.

Anyway, if you can make it, that would be most awesome. It would be Supercalifragilisticexpialidocious if you can purchase one of the art pieces, but all we really want is for you guys to show up, have a good time with us and possibly further educate yourself of the amazingness that Pit Bulls posses and how misunderstood they can be.

Artists in the show are as followed:

Beefy   Big C   Boom  Trooper   Drilone  Eos   Frank Kozik   Hellotan   Jay222toy   Jerome Lu
J Fury   Joe Flow   Jon E Boi   JRAD   kOmega   LilJAPAN   Martin Hsu   Meaghan Alfonso  MissyMtoyz   Raya Seis   Salamander   Shadoe Delgado   Spazda   Tony Gil   Troy Martin  valleyDweller   Zeb

Details :

Saturday October 19th 6-9pm.
[ pieces will be on display all day]

Kidrobot San Francisco
1512 Haight St,

Hope to see ya there. Much love, blessings and positive vibes.

Brand new sketchbook. WOO! HOO! Courtesy of Big C.  By the way, go check his stuff out.

To celebrate in honor of my happy feet. Getting a new sketchbook is something of a great deal for nerds like me. Anyway, as I was saying, as a gesture of celebration, I decided to sketch on its first page. I normally don't do a whole lot of rough sketching. My sketching style is much refined to be called a sketch (or so I been told) so I decided to loosen up a bit and be a bit messy with my lines.

Lately, I been having all sorts of vivid dreams. One that really stuck with me was a dream I had about two nights ago. In my dream, I saw a woman; a beautiful woman at that, sitting on what appeared to  to be a big throne. Quite big for her small frame, actually. She was dressed in a much revealing outfit, almost to the point of not leaving much to the imagination. She had some kind of crown . . . I don't know. All I remember is that I thought her head piece was massive, beautiful, detailed and excessively intricate, like the head piece a queen would wear.  It wowed me! On her lap sat a Black Widow. Uh? Weird. She sat before me . . . staring at me with such powerful and deep gaze. It was soul penetrating. She didn't say a word, but somehow, I knew that the rotten, red apple she held in her right hand was being offered to me. Under her feet laid scatter remains of human bones and skulls.

I don't know what the dream meant or why I even dreamt of such things. All I know is that she still haunts my mind. I been thinking about her quite a lot today . . . maybe because its been raining and rainy days inspired me so much or simply because the voices in my head cannot deal with her presence and must let her out . . . I don't know. All I know is that I need to capture her essence on paper and share her with the world.

The first sketches to go on my new sketchbook are just rough ideas of that dream I had. I can't wait to bring this new piece to life. I haven't yet decided what colors I am going to be working with or what medium for that matter. However, I know that I will titled this piece . . .

HELLO PLANET EARTH AND BEYOND . . .

I am writing to let you guys know that I am going to be a very busy Queen B and this will be my last post for awhile. I'm gonna take some time off from the social media to focus on some new projects. For the first time since 2008, I will be releasing an ACEO project. I will also be working on a few personal drawings and paintings, finishing up a few commissions and preparing for upcoming shows.

I will miss you dearly, but when I do return to you it will all be worth the wait. So stay tuned for some cool merchandise, fun giveaways and other sorts of goodies that I have in store for all of you. Again, thank you for being so darn cool and for the continuous warm-support.

Love you all!

For the passed 2 years, I've been struggling with uploading my website. I cannot begin to tell you how many times I have designed that darn thing. I tend to get bored very easily and whenever I would re-work the file, I would immediately find it boring, and there I would go again designing a whole new site. It's been so frustrating, to say the least. I am very artistic and creative as heck, but truth be told, I am inept when it comes to coding, hosting and all that nonsense . . . I am an EPIC FAIL at it. I am happy to inform you that I finally found that knight in shinning armor, who is willing to code and HOST this darn site of mine. Yay!

Anyway, so . . . Yup! You guessed it . . . I created a whole new design. Hahahahaha! So, I am happy to present to you the main page of my cyber home. I am so pleased with the way it turned out, that I am gonna produce it as a limited edition Giclée. Yay!

So stay tuned, as I will be making the announcement in the next few weeks.

On a Wednesday morning . . .

Holy Shiotz!!! It just dawned on me . . . FUDGE! I been so busy and hyper focus on the projects at hand that I forgot how busy, I truly am and pretty much will be till the end of October. *eeeeek* I got a signing and print release (in collaboration with Big C) during this year's Comic Con . . .  which is just a week away. An art show at Toy Art Gallery (TAG) in late August, a live web interview with the Slam Show in October. A toy design for the upcoming Bay Area Artists series in mid October; which will benefit the BAD RAP organization, not to mention that I am 100% responsible for ALL marketing aspects of this show (website, package design, flyers, posters, postcards, etc.) Then comes Designer Con right after . . . O' and of course, I still have to squeeze in the time to finish ALL my commissioned art pieces. HOT DAYUM! Don't get me wrong, I wouldn't have it any other way. Very few people in this world get to live their dream each and every single day like God has allowed me to live mine . . . I just have no clue as to how I am gonna get so much done in so little time. I think I am on panic mode (overdrive) *jaw drops*

P.S.
Pray for me and for those that don't believe in prayer, please send my way your most positive, productive thoughts/vibes because I am definitely gonna need them.

Thank you for reading my rant!

Revenge of the Sixth

"So, Lone Star, now you see that evil will always triumph, because good is dumb."

BWAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!
Thought I make your day. Happy Revenge of the 6th day.

Ta! Da! I'm back! Unlike my other entries I will keep this one simple and short. Been doing some traveling, working on tons of stuff and new projects since my last post. I have so much to share with you (including photos) and I can't wait to share everything with you guys.

So, last month (April) I was very fortunate to visit my good ol' pal Kirby who aside from being one rad dude is also the co-owner of one awesome gallery by the name of RotofugiBig C and I flew to the windy city to support our boy Clay for his (Dayum awesome!) Squadt Assembly Show. Man! O' man! What a show that was. The installation was top notch and the Squadts? . . . to die for.  Here are some of the pics I was able to snapped. I promise, you wont be disappointed . . .

Awesome, right? Told ya! Anyway,  moving along . . . Saturday was May 4th and as many of you already know I am a (((HUGE))) lover for all things Star Wars. Given the fact that San Francisco is pretty much the center of creation when it comes to Star Wars it was obvious that it was going to be a memorable day over here. So Big C and I headed over to Super 7 not only because these dudes are hella rad, but because our boy Jerome was doing a live painting of this ubber rad Star Wars, character collage. OMG! Let me tell ya. It was insane over there. They had some amazing SW merchandise and to make things even more heart attack prone Steve Sansweet from Rancho Obi-Wan was there with some pretty rad collectibles. I was beginning to feel emotional the minute I saw the Stormtroopers, Biker Scouts, Sandtroopers, and Arc Troopers (courtesy of Vader's 501st, Golden Gate Garrison Chapter) standing outside the doors of Super 7. I swear, it took every fiber of my being to not cry like a little girl on X-mas day after getting her first My Little Pony. O' Gosh! But I managed to hold the waterworks then once inside the store I got PWND! Hahahahahaha! There are many, many, many artists I solely admired, adored and definitely look up to and one of those artists happens to be Ralph McQuarrie. Well, guess what? Super 7 had at least eleven prints of McQuarrie's original SW concept art. Of course after my eyes saw them and couldn't help becoming weak sauce . . . those tears started rolling. I almost managed to keep them hidden from the 20+ people that were at the store at that moment, but my lovely Big C thought it was cute to shout out loud, "O' look. She is crying!!!" Great! Thanks, man . . . NOT! That was embarrassing, but I was too distracted by the awesomeness of the moment, the store, the people and the collectibles that I soon, forgot all about my embarrassment and how much I wanted to kick Big C's @$$.

Overall, Saturday was an AMAZING, memorable day.  Got to see Jerome kill it on that SW piece, engulfed myself in positive, creative vibes, drooled all over myself before the grand presence of all the troopers, and was deeply honored by Shadoe's request to draw one of my sketch on his sketchbook. It feels great when a fan comes up to me and asks me to sketch something up for them, but when another artist; especially the caliber of Shadoe, asks me to do that, that just humbles me. Why? Because it takes A LOT to fool someone who understands composition, the relationship of space and color and how to work that pencil. Yup. It was a good day . . . here is the recap through the images . . .

Big shout outs to my bebes at Kidrobot San Francisco; especially you, Luke for taking care of me and making some yummy tea just for me. Also, much love to the Super 7 crew, especially Josh and Luke for all the help in getting our order ready and for letting me change my shirt in your secret closet. *kekekekeke* And the love continues on to the sexy Troopers from Golden Gate Garrison and my newest fan Che who was extra sweet towards my work and even went as far as calling me "Awesome" *sheesh* Thank you, Che!*blush* *blush*

P.S
Next time I say that I am keeping it short and sweet, don't believe me. \(o.O)/

Yeah! I know. I know . . . Blewh! Eos! Blewh! I don't know how many times I am going to have to do this, but you all better get use to it . . . again, my apologies for keeping this blog so entertaining it should win an award . . . NOT! The truth is that (at least in my case) is very hard to keep up with all social media venues, and still be able to give my heart and soul into the artwork. There is a saying, "We become what we repeatedly do." and eventually I will get the hang out of this, but for the time being, please, lovelies-please bare with me . . .

So, I have new and exciting things to share both on a personal and professional level.  About two weeks ago, my partner in crime Big C made a quick trip to Southern Cali which tragically took us over 13 hours when in reality it should have been a 6 hour (tops) trip. O'well. Anyway, we drove down there to celebrate our two year anniversary and support our good friend and colleague Jerome Lu and everyone at BAIT during the  BAIT x STREET FIGHTER show. We had a blast!!! I felt like my normal nerdbot-self, not only because I got to kick Lap's @$$ (numerous times. Yay! Me!) on the Street Fighter arcade. O'Yeah! I'M SO BOSS! Hahahahaha! But also because I got to see, hang out and talk junk with my "brother from another mother" and soulmate in the bizz, Sket One. The following day, we made our escape over to the LACMA: Stanley Kubrick exhibit where I (apparently) bugged too many people. MOA! HA! HA! HA! Not that was my design, but many were becoming annoyed with my "picture-taking on steroids" What can I say? I am a huge fan of Kubrick and his stuff is pure art. Anyway, I will share pics of our fun trip in the next couple of days.

Moving on . . . I am happy to announce that I've done it again. Bahahahahaha! Yup! I'm bad that way. Last year I was part of numerous art shows and exhibits and wanted to concentrate more on my art studies as well as more personal projects and resume gallery shows 2014 . . . but, I just can't say no when the curators look at me with them anime-sparkling eyes. Uuuuh! They know how to work their spell on me. *lol* Anyway, after that unnecessary rant just there, I am happy to announce that I will be having several pieces included, as well as taking part in the live painting section in the upcoming Art Attack SF Gallery "HELLO CITY" art show which is heavily inspired by all Hello Kitty and Sanrio yum!

Here are some details . . .

Opening Reception :
Friday, March 1 (6pm-9pm)

Live Custom Painting/Sculpting
Saturday, March 2 (1pm-7pm)

Facebook Event Page :
Art Attack Sf presents "HELLO CITY" : Sanrio Inspired Showcase

So yup! Though in person,  I am as shy as a clam it is always very nice to meet new fans, as well as being able to say hi to those of you who have supported me throughout the years. I know many can say these words while carrying no weight or depth, but believe me when I say that you guys are my inspiration and the true art behind every single piece I create. Its true that there is no artist without the art, but there is no art without an audience. Thank you so much guys, really. I'm humbled and honored by your continuous support, enthusiasm and faith in all that I create. I LOVE YOU ALL TONS!

P.S.
Before I forget again, I want to kindly thank the sweetest, most helpful (museum) security I have ever met. Rickie Williams, thank you so much for your hospitality, help and support while we were visiting LACMA. You sir rock like a hurricane. We appreciate you SO MUCH! Thank you for everything! ❤

Update . . .

Yikes! I have totally neglected this poor blog and now is even sadder than a funeral in here. Since my last post (eons ago) so much has been going on from resuming art classes at Cogswell to supporting my other half with his art career and shows to even getting in the mess of shows myself all over again. Last year was a busy year for me in terms of art shows and after such a heavy year, I just wanted to chill and dedicate my time to school, commissions and a few personal projects that have been patiently waiting for some of my attention . . . but somethings are much easier said than done and well, what do you know? I'm back on the walls of galleries. Hahahaha! So much for that, huh?

Anywoo, last Friday I participated in an art show titled "Hometown Heroes" at Art Attack Gallery in San Francisco (I've included some pics on this post) and I must say (despite the fact that I was dead tired) I really enjoyed illustrating in front of a live audience. I must say the experience was nothing like I was expecting it. In the past when people have approached me at ComicCon or at various shows for sketches, its been somewhat nerve-wrecking for me. I have major respect for the work I produce, as well as my fans and clients that I prefer to take my time researching and refining each element of the piece to look its very best. Such a task is hard to accomplish when you have to produce right on the spot; within a few minutes, and you are as slow as a turtle as I am. Ugh! But despite the anxiety attacks and the terrifying thoughts that haunted my mind minutes before the show, it all went pretty well. I got to meet a few of my fans, said hello to my (art) buddies, talked junk for a bit and created. What more would I want, really?

So there ya go. That's what's up. I have a couple of fun and interesting things in the works, as well as upcoming shows in the next few weeks. I will try my very best to keep you guys up to date on here, but in case I (epic) fail check me out on facebook or you can follow me on instagram.

The lucky Seven . . .

Ever since I decided to become a full time artist and ditched that "caca" 9-5 (nearly three years ago), I been asked by a handful of dudes & dudettes on what it takes to become a successful artist. I been meaning to reserve my opinions and not spill the beans too much because three years ago I hadn't the roughest of ideas and didn't wanted to sound dumb nor mislead anyone. People assumed that because I was able to quit my day job, all of the sudden I was making big bones which was so-ooooooo not the case. With three full years (and counting) of doing nothing but art to pay the bills,  I feel that I have earned enough knowledge to guide you through the right path or at the very least . . . get you going. Now, I am not in any means suggesting that this is how you should do it and following these steps will guarantee you immediate success, but these are good things to learn and keep in mind to keep you on the right track. Well then without further ado, please continue . . .

I.  THE HEART AND SOUL
Let me start off with the most basic of advice any professional artist can give you. The core of becoming a successful artist does not lie in just raw talent and skill (trust me, in this business you witness incredible talent that talent becomes secondary; is just a given element of the whole equation) but more so in developing your own individual style and that my dearests requires hard work (tons of it). That is the first step into becoming a successful artist. Finding your true identity, that is the heart and soul of an artist and you cannot bypass this step and expect to make it big.

II.  PRESENTATION! PRESENTATION! PRESENTATION!
Have you ever heard of the phrase, "Image is everything."? Good, now you must apply it. Many young-bloods in the business forget that (unfortunately) this is a business and as much as we refuse to acknowledge such evil, the fact of the matter is that the evil is very real. Being an artist is not too far from being a brand; you just happen to be a brand with a heart and soul. *kekekekeke* How you talk and write about your work is very important and in doing so you must do it in a manner in which people will understand it. I highly encourage to use the full potential of the internet (blogs, youtube, instagram, facebook, etc). Work it like there is no tomorrow, but keep in mind that the way you present yourself and your work will have a profound impact on your career. So use it wisely.

III.  HEART AND SOUL . . . NOT HERE!
Being a successful artist also means you have a strong back bone (I am talking, titanium). If you are the sensitive type who keeps artwork hidden away and holds grudges against those that critique it in a "negative" way, you might want to consider another career path. Though having free will to create whatever comes to mind indeed is a luxury, such luxury comes with a price tag. I highly recommend getting into the habit of inviting artists whom you respect and admire to your studio to view your work. If you don't have a studio or you are too embarrassed, and afraid of being sued because you can't find the floor under all that mess (causing tripping accidents), then again, online is your best resource. It is highly important to obtain accurate, sincere critiques from your peers, you will find that the more feedback you get the better you become. Now here is an added bonus that comes with having your own circle of trust (peers network) is that they are a great source of information; you can share notes about the art world thus learning from each other and discuss exhibition opportunities. Interacting regularly with other artists will keep you connected to the art world outside your studio.

Personal note : There is no such thing as a negative feedback because feedback is given with ultimate end of progress in mind. Keep it simple, kiddos.

IV.  MUCHAS GRACIAS! THANK YOU! TOU YEH! DANK U! MERCI! DANKE SEHR! SHUKRIYAA . . .
No matter how you say it, say it! The art world can be very unforgiving at times and rejection is more common than a hello in this bizz. However, we must never forget to be thankful to those who have been helpful or given us time in their busy lives to find out what we do. Start getting into the habit of writing little thank you notes, especially to those poor curators that work their buns off to make those shows happen or the collectors who are interested in your work, or even that guy who wrote a review on his blog about your upcoming show or art piece. Such little gesture goes a lo-oooooong way. Trust me, people will remember you and you will develop a wider group of supporters.  Now, I am not advising to kiss peoples' hinnies, that is something totally different which I do not support, but it is quite nice to be thoughtful of other as often as you can. Trust me, you are not the only one working your butt off.

Personal note :  I always have with me 'Artist Trading Cards' (They are inexpensive, easy to carry and most local art stores carry them. ) or sketching paper. I am a firm believer of the building bridges, NOT BURNING THEM! proposition.

V.  WHO IS THAT?

Have you ever noticed that most (loud, as in successful) artists know who the important people in the art world are? There is a reason for that and as you grow and advance as in artist you cannot afford that diva attitude that seems to lurk in some heads out there. You cannot take the attitude that your work is so amazing and interesting therefore people should seek you out and that's that. Ha! Good luck with that. That just doesn't fly and quite honestly is a very ridiculous attitude. You don't have to be ubber-buddies with the big names out there, but you should be aware of the influential gallery dealers, the art collectors, the directors of museums, active curators, and of course the art critics and writers. This is how you become successful on the grand scale of things by knowing the key players. Network! Network! Network!

VI.  CREATE! CREATE! CREATE!
That is pretty much it for this section, create like you are about to get ready for four one-person exhibitions. Sure you will end up with tons of paintings just sitting around in your studio, but there is purpose in this. Constantly creating is not only beneficial to your skills, but to your career as an artist as well. Curators, dealers and everyone who plays a key role love to see and deal with prolific artists. Having four shows ready to go means that you can jump on opportunities that arise with little or no notice.

VII. INSPIRATION COMES TO THOSE WHO GET BUSY!
This is not joke people! I used to be one of those artists that sat around waiting for my muse to come and dance with me. Sometimes she would come a few times during the year and other times years would go by till her next visit. Professional artists, who create art for a living can't afford such waste of time. Trust me, I KNOW! Hahahahaha! No seriously, it is much more beneficial and fruitful to work constantly and while doing so, who knows, maybe the muse will stop by and whisper sweet things in your ear. The key here is to keep working because in doing so not only will you develop healthy habits (like time management which is crucial) but your skills and knowledge will continue to evolve.

Personal note : Schedule time to work on your art, make a commitment to produce a certain amount of work per month, and respect your own deadlines. As mediocre as they may seem to you, respect them!

The Art of Toys

A few months ago, I was commissioned (by a really rad dude) to do a custom toy of one of his favorite characters. Ta! Da! Pa! Pa! Pa-aaaaaaah! . . . TEEMO! Come on, we all know who Teemo is, right?  You don't?!?!?!?!? Malicious peas! OMG! Please, O' please go and educate yourselves. PLEASE!  Come on! Teemo is like the cutest thing around next to monsters and Hello Kitty. Word! *lol*

Anyway, I cautiously advised him that it would take sometime for me to even get started, since I was doing shows like they were going out of style. May I add that doing shows back to back for five months straight is not as fun as it sounds. Days without sleep, proper nutrition and pain-dead wrist is no joke people. NO JOKE! Even after the fact that it would take me till the end of this year to get started was not good enough to stop him from commissioning me. He wanted me and no one else. Period! --- Wow! Quite frankly that made me feel sort of special, given the fact that there are SO-OOOOOO many toy artists out there who do AMAZING work, don't believe me? Check out Shadoe Delgado.

This particular custom is very special and dear to me; not because it involves a cute fox who rocks my socks, but because of how much of a challenge this will be in terms of my artistic abilities, my understanding of the materials and 3d. Bahahahahaha! Auwgh! Yup! This is one of those projects that is sure to kick my butt to the 10 raised to the 10th power raised to the 123rd power in Quantum. I particularly love (enjoy) these type of projects because there is nothing more creative for an artist then to grow and keep expanding. The death of art lies in the monotonous. *eeeeeeek* Anywoo, here is a sketch (teaser) of what is about to take life in the next couple of days. Stay tuned!
